Prof. Ming Zhang

Bio: 

Zhang Ming is a distinguished Professor at Peking University's School of Computer Science and serves as a doctoral supervisor, highlighting his role in nurturing advanced research talent. He is an influential figure in the academic community, holding positions on several key committees and organizations, including the National Committee for Undergraduate Computer Education, ACM China Council, and ACM China Education Committee, which underscores his leadership and impact in shaping computer science education. Professor Zhang pursued his academic journey at Peking University, earning his bachelor's, master's, and PhD degrees starting in 1984, establishing a strong foundation in his field. His research expertise lies in text mining, graph machine learning, and educational big data, areas in which he actively engages through leading national projects and collaborating with top-tier companies, focusing on innovative advancements and practical applications. With over 300 publications in prestigious conferences and journals, Professor Zhang has earned notable accolades such as the Best Paper Award at ICML 2014 and nominations at WWW 2016 and ICDM 2022, reflecting his significant scholarly contributions. In addition to his research achievements, he is committed to education, having published teaching research papers and authored a textbook recognized as an excellent resource and supported by national educational initiatives. His course on Data Structures and Algorithms has been honored with multiple awards at the national and Beijing levels, showcasing his excellence in teaching and curriculum development. Professor Zhang's dedication to education was further acknowledged in 2021 when he received the CCF Outstanding Education Award, a testament to his exceptional contributions to computer science education and research.


Prof. Chunxiao Xing

Bio: 


Xing Chunxiao is the vice president and doctoral supervisor of Tsinghua University Institute of Information Technology, and vice president of Tsinghua University Internet Industry Research Institute and China New Urbanization Research Institute. He has been engaged in scientific research and teaching in two first-level disciplines of computer science and technology and software engineering and their application fields for a long time. His main research directions are: databases and data warehouses, data science and big data technology, blockchain and security, and knowledge engineering, digital libraries, e-government/e-commerce, smart health and medical care and other fields. As the person in charge, he has undertaken dozens of projects including the National Science and Technology Support Plan Project, National 863 Key Project and Goal-Oriented Project, National Natural Fund Key Project, National 973 Project Project, National High-tech Industrialization CNGI Project, Beijing Science and Technology Plan Project, International Cooperation and Horizontal Project.



Prof. Minnan Luo

Bio: 

Minnan Luo is a professor and doctoral supervisor at Xi'an Jiaotong University, PhD in Computer Science at Tsinghua University, and a postdoctoral fellow at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) in the United States. He is mainly engaged in research on multi-modal big data analysis and mining of social networks, and has published more than 80 papers in top international journals and conferences such as IEEE TPAMI, NeurIPS, and ACL. Won the first prize of Shaanxi Provincial Natural Science Award in 2022, the special prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award of the Chinese Society of Automation in 2020, the DASFAA 2021 Best Paper Award, and was selected into the first “University Computer Major Outstanding Teacher Award Program” in 2018, 2021 “Wang Kuancheng Young Scholar” and the world's first AI Chinese female young scholar list released by Baidu Academic in 2023.


Prof. Lemen Chao

Bio: 

Lemen Chao, professor and doctoral supervisor, is a well-known scholar in the field of data science in my country. As the person in charge of the national first-class undergraduate course "Introduction to Data Science", he concurrently serves as deputy director of the Smart City Research Center and deputy director of the Intelligent Information Analysis Center of Renmin University of China, as well as a standing member of the Information Systems Special Committee of the China Computer Federation and a member of the National University Artificial Intelligence and Deputy Director of the Expert Committee of the Big Data Innovation Alliance. He serves as associate editor of the international journal "Data Science and Informetrics", editorial board member of "Data Intelligence", executive editorial board member of the core journal "Computer Science", and youth editorial board member of "Library and Information Work". Professor Chao Lemen has presided over the completion of more than 10 important scientific research projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation and the National Social Science Foundation, and participated in national projects such as Nuclear High Foundation, 973, and 863, with fruitful research results. He published "Data Science", my country's first monograph systematically expounding the concept of data science (Tsinghua University Press, 2016), and his textbook "Theory and Practice of Data Science (Second Edition)" was awarded “Quality Textbook for Higher Education Institutions in Beijing”, and won the first prize of the Ministry of Education's Outstanding Scientific Research Achievements in Higher Education Institutions and the first prize of the Beijing Teaching Innovation Award National University Big Data Education Outstanding Contribution Award and many other important awards.

Lexing Huang, Ph.D./Professor, doctoral supervisor, dean of the School of Information, Hainan University, deputy director of the State Key Laboratory of Marine Resource Utilization in the South China Sea, member of the Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain Special Committee of the Science and Technology Commission of the Ministry of Education, chief scientist of the National Key R&D Program, Executive Director of the Graduate Education Branch of the China Electronic Education Society, Director of the Hainan Provincial Key Laboratory of Big Data and Smart Services Director of the Green Smart Island Provincial and Ministry Joint Construction Collaborative Innovation Center, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Hainan Internet Talent Training Innovation Alliance, Deputy Chairman of the Hainan Provincial Computer Major Teaching Steering Committee, President of the Hainan Provincial Smart City Research Institute; IEEE Computer Society Member, senior member of the China Computer Federation and member of the Information Systems Committee Member of the Standing Committee of the Intelligent Aerospace Systems Committee of the Chinese Artificial Intelligence Society; editorial board member of "Journal of Communications"; outstanding talent in Hainan Province, outstanding expert with outstanding contributions in Hainan Province, first-level candidate of Hainan Province “515 Talent Project”, and famous Nanhai expert in Hainan Province.  Obtained a doctorate in engineering from Northwestern Polytechnical University in 2007 and completed postdoctoral research in computer science and technology at Tsinghua University in 2009. The main research areas include: big data and intelligent information processing, multi-source information perception and integration, artificial intelligence and intelligent services, etc. In recent years, he has published more than 230 academic papers as first author and corresponding author, including more than 180 included in SCI and EI; obtained 29 national invention patents, 92 software copyrights, and 6 group standards; published 4 monographs and translated 2 books. Hosted and undertook nearly 30 national, provincial, ministerial and municipal projects, including 1 national key research and development plan project, 3 National Natural Science Foundation projects, 6 other national projects such as 863 and Science and Technology Support Plan; as the first Completer won 1 first prize and 1 second prize of Hainan Province Science and Technology Progress Award.
